Good Afternoon,
Please see the below feedback of an overview of incidents reported between the 11/05/2025 and the 13/08/2025.
Anti-social behaviour
10/06/2025 – Young persons causing anti-social behaviour at Dunelm – Persons identified, and positive action taken by means of anti-social behaviour warning letters.
03/06/2025 – Williams place - Damage to electric box overnight – No lines of enquiry id unfortunately.
14/06/2025 - Young persons causing anti-social behaviour at Premier Shop, Hawthorn – Persons identified, and positive action taken by means of anti-social behaviour warning letters.
12/07/2025 – Person attempting to brake in to Caeglas residential home causing damage to window – Person arrested and investigation ongoing.
Damage/Road related
10/05/2025 - Driver caught driving whilst using a hand held mobile phone - £200 and 6 points.
12/05/2025 – Driver caught driving whilst using a hand held mobile phone - £200 and 6 points.
26/05/2025 – A470 Upper Boat – Person caught driving other than in accordance with a driving licence and no insurance – Driver reported for offences and vehicle seized.
31/05/2025 - A470 Upper Boat – Person caught driving whilst under the influence of alcohol and drugs and driving whilst disqualified – Person arrested, charged and vehicle seized.
02/06/2025 – Driver caught driving with no insurance – Driver summons to court and vehicle seized.
04/07/2025 – Off road bike riding around Hawthorn – Positive action taken against the rider by means of S.59 anti-social behaviour warning notice.
Theft
11/05/2025 – 1 theft from Home Bargains – Person identified and appropriate action taken.
13/05/2025 – 1 Theft from Iceland – Person identified and charged.
15/06/2025 – One Beyond store, Midway retail park - 1 person arrested and charged for shoplifting.
2 – Evidential difficulties.
Speeding
The cameras on Cardiff Road Hawthorn are live 24HRS a day and is a 20mph speed zone.
Below is the number of Notice of intended prosecution that was sent out over the past few months –

Parking complaints
Concerns raised around school drop off and pick up times at Ysgol Afon Wen – Suitable advice provided.
Any lines and signs parking issues for example parking on double yellow lines should be reported to the Highways department in the council on the below link -
